Transfer of ownership from parents to son

(Querist) 09 January 2016 This query is : Resolved
Dear Experts

My father had one house in housing board and one open land . Both my parents are no more now. I have acquired legal hire certificate after passing their demise and i am only child to my parents.

The Hosing board house which has been fully transferred to my Father's Name ( purchased with own earning) many years before his passing away and the open hand he is the owner and acquired the property from his own earning

I wish to get the house and the open land to be transferred to my Name . Please advice how this should be done and will chennai corporation or municipality will levy any transfer fee.If so what would be the value

Since this is a transfer from father to son for the house and open land should it be registered again in local sub register office .if yes what will be the transfer fee or Government charges for transfer of house and open land

Please advice

This is not the transfer of the property but mutation in the revenue records of the property.
So mutate your name in the lane revenue department of your city and for the flat do do so in the local Municipality.

Agreed with Expert Mr. Barman.

You have inherited the property from your father and your mother is also no more and you are the lone ClassI legal heir.

Produce the death and legal heir certificate To housing board/MC and mutate the property in your name.

Agree with the experts. Get the property mutated in your name by completing the required formality.
