Dear Mr.Shubhy

At the outset, I should strongly say that your apprehension of going to jail IS ILLUSORY, misconceived, FALSE AND wrong thinking.
If you are a genuine witness of the sale deed, your responsibility is only upto the execution of the sale deed and you have witnessed for signatures and persons who are executing the sale deed.

If you signed as a witness on behalf of the official of the company where you work, it is in good faith and affirming the sale transaction and signatures of the executors of the sale deed.

My present assertions are subject to my belief that YOU ARE NOT A PARTY TO THE TRANSACTION AND YOU ARE NOT AT ALL IN COLLUSION WITH THE SELLER OF PROPERTY. Further, you are working in the company with due sincerity and honesty and that there is no mens rea (bad intention) on your part at the time of execution of sale deed.

If you are an honest and sincere employee of the company and signed the document as a witness to the transaction and that executant is a p.a. holder of the company, NOTHING HAPPENS TO YOU . However, for investigation you are once in a way called upon to give statements and undertakings as demanded by the prospectus officials of police or the court.

Hence please be rest assured that nothing undesirable events takes place. Please live in peace and DO NOT LIVE IN FEAR AND FALSE APPREHENSION AT ALL.
GOOD WISHES TO YOU

Whether the person who signed the sale deed on behalf of the company was fraudulent / unauthorized?

Any charge against you depend on the extent of your intentional involvement in the fraud.
