FIR lodged u/s 156(3) directed by court to register case and investigate for fraud and forgery. Police submitted cancellation report to court and it was cancelled. Can I approach High Court against the orders of lower court for accepting the cancellation report. Please advice.

Did you file a protest petition when you received notice of closure of case.
If not then it would be very difficult to challenge the order of Magistrate now in high court.
Anyway file revision u/s 401 crpc in high court or u/s 397 in sessions court.

Yes I received notice and filed objections. Now do I have to approach High Court or session court.

If a real problem with a criminal case, I wonder why a lawyer was not engaged.

It can only be in an academic query, where lawyer is not consulted, which your query clearly indicates so.
