I am transferred to a diff city hence staying away from my wife (who is also working) for last 1.5 yrs but have been sending money each month though she has a handsome salary too. There are compatibility issues between us and she keeps on threatning to file Sec498a if she is not given money, also threatens to commit suicide. I am under tremendous mental torture and want separation. She is staying in my own house which i inherited from my parents and i am staying in pg in a different city. Our 7 yrs of marriage will complete in next 2 months. What are my options?

Sandeep do u have any proof of any kind of threat given by her?
No question of giving any kind of money as she is capable to maintain her self.
U can file divorce petition at local court.

Try to have amicable settlement and save marriage.

Thanks! but the issues cant be resolved, have tried a lot. Pls tell me what are my options to get divorce? Will completion of 7 yrs save me from Sec 498a?

You will have to file case for divorce.
498a have no relation ship with completion of 7 years.

Ok. just one question more, is it advisable to wait for 7 yrs of marriage completion as in my case it is just 2 months away, before filing of divoirce? Is it beneficial to the husband in any way under any provisions of law?

She is your Wife and She would stay in your House only which is Her home.She has the Right to Demand Money from you as a Husband Irrespective of her Earnings.Why dont you Try for a Transfer to your Home City or I doubt any other reason behind it.

Thanks Narasimha! I cant wait for 70 years, i was asking because i heard dowry cases cant be filed after 7 yrs of marriage. And for the reason i do not want to stay with her is that we have compatibility issues and she is very dominating. She has a habit of raising hue and cry on small issues and use abusive language. I am not used to all this.

Please Understand these are all Common Issues in Every Married Life.Both of you should have a Counselling with a Senior Psychiatrist.Take the help of Senior Family members.There is No Problem which can not be solved with a Proper approach.Breaking is always Easy but it would be too late when you repent.She is Your Wife and Only your self could Modify her but not by fighting.Make her realise your Love for her and certainly she would Change.

Sorry! I cant allow somebody to enjoy on my money and save entirely her own. Live in my house and ask me to pay for her expenses while she saves her entirely. She did not help me with a single penny when i needed lacs for my mother's treatement and ultimately she died. Seems like i cant get direct answers here. Thanks for your help!

A good academic query, but with bad description!
If there is any truth in your description, the simple solution is to hire a local lawyer to file your case of divorce without any delay, why wait for another two months. Even if she files 498A case against you, he will handle that appropriately.

Of course, your apprehension is correct when you say, "Seems like i cant get direct answers here," as you really can't get solutions to you academic queries with direct answers to your question, when posted without description of full facts. Solutions to only real problems can be expected from the experts here.
Your statement, "Our 7 yrs of marriage will complete in next 2 months," clearly suggests on what specific issue of academic nature you want answer, not on some real problem.
