CHS misuse of power

(Querist) 10 March 2017 This query is : Resolved
My building committee has been sticking arrears list in the lifts and common building lobby even after having a notice board in the lobby..it is their way of pressuring the members to pay dues but it gets embarrassing for everyone when guest visit us..please advice if this is in the power of the committee to use lifts and lobbies for sticking such notices or do members have a right to appeal against such things. thank you

why do not you pay.

if you do not pay dues then prima-facie nothing wrong in making your name public.

notice need to be put in prominent place to draw the attention of defaulters. as long as you are not a defaulter, you need not worry.

You can maximum request the committee members.. nothing else you can do.

What type of "Building Committee" is referred in your query, is it some Residents Welfare Association, Cooperative Group Housing Society or any other association?

What is the constitution of the "Building Committee"? It's power(s) are mentioned therein the Memorandum/Article of Association and/or Bye-Laws, have you checked?

Discuss with a local lawyer.
