Lock in period and Notice

Hi
My leave and licence (rent) agreement has a lock in period of 6 months and a separate clause of 1 month notice to vacate from both sides. Can I give a month's notice exactly 1 month before the lock in period of 6 months ends (just at the beginning of 6th month). My landlord claims that notice period can start only after lock in period ends!!
Please suggest.

If the need be and situation has arisen show it to a very able local counsel of unshakable repute and integrity specializing in revenue/property/rent matters and well versed with local rules/laws/precedneces.

Yes, if the lock-in period ends and you want to handover possession of the demised premises, issue a notice 'one month' prior/ before the period of ending of lock-in period.

Your land lord is right. Lock in period is minimum period for lease mutually agreed to (6 months). Notice period commences only after that.
