General power of attorney

I make a general power of attorney duly notarized in the name of my two brothers with the clause sale of properties and to operate bank account in January, 2011. Now I want to revoke the same. what is the procedure to revoke the notarized power of attorney. Is it necessary to publish the revocation of GPOA as public notice in local news paper.
please advise me.

Notice for Revocation of GPA may be issued to the Agents by RP with acknowledgment due. it is better to issue public notice through news paper. consult an experienced local lawyer for better drafting.

Making A Revocation Legally Valid And Enforceable

It is fairly simple to make a legally valid Revocation of Power of Attorney. All you need to do is carry out the following steps-

Draft a deed for Revocation of Power of Attorney.
If the Power of Attorney you wish to revoke was notarized or registered, you will need to do the same for the Revocation document as well.
Send a copy to the Attorney. Keep in mind the revocation is effective if it is received by the Attorney. Sending it via registered post would be ideal.
Send a copy of the Revocation of Power of Attorney to banks/institutions where the Attorney may have acted on your behalf.
Send a copy to where the POA was registered. Eg deed registry, land titles office etc.
Preserve a copy for yourself in a safe place.

Cancel the PoA by a registered Cancellation Deed and intimate your attorney through acknowledgement.
No publication is necessary if you did not authorise him to deal with general public for some wider action(s) on your behalf.
Earlier is better to avoid any transaction during the intervening period.

D ear Mr.Ajoy you had executed the POA also for the purpose of transactions like sale of the property and a News Paper Publication of Cancellation of Registered POA with concerned Registrar Office would be required to make your side more Legally Strong Please.

Problem does not seem to be a real one, if the attorneys are your real brothers. However, if a real problem, is there any difficulty in getting back that POA from your brothers?
