Daughters share in property willed to son

Querist : Anonymous (Querist) 28 July 2019 This query is : Resolved
My father sold a residential property which he inherited through will from his father in 2004. In 2014, my father sold the property and with its sale proceeds plus some more funds, he purchased another residential property. The new residential property is jointly registered in his name, my mothers name and myself each having equal share. In 2019, my father executed a will stating that after his death, the property will belong to me and my wife (his daughter in law). My question is - after my fathers death, does my married sister have any rightful share in the said property? If yes, how much share? If no, can she or her husband still trouble us legally?

Ji, after your fathers demise, his share will devolve to you and your wife. no one can object it. But during the life of your father, for his share he can do as he wishes.
Dr J C Vashista (Expert) 29 July 2019
It shall be self acquired property in your hands, on getting the will probated.
It would be better to consult a local prudent lawyer for appreciation of facts, guidance and proceeding.
