APPPE Federation, in which one of my friend is a member, won a case under equakl pay for equal work @ the hon'ble A.P.High Court. The Hon'ble supreme court found no infirmity in the above order. but the aggrieved party want's to go for a review. Whether the review petition is allowed? If allowed, how much time it may take to give a decision?

Review petition as a matter of right can be filed but it hardly gets allowed. The Review s not like appeal and herein only the mistake , if any apparent on the face of the record gets corrected and the Supreme Court does not take much time to dispose of such application.

one more point to add the Hon'ble SC will not be hearing the Review petition in open court, it will be decided in Chamber only.

The review petition is maintainable, if any point, which was taken by the party earlier has not been decided and there are specific provisions regarding review in the particular statue. The court can not review its own order/judgment on the ground of illegality. Fraud, concealment etc. can be a good grounds for review petition. Normally, the courts do not interferer with earlier orders, unless there is patent error of law and fact appear in the earlier order/judgment. However, a review petition can be used as tool to delay in implementation of judgment/order.
