When father gives all property to daughter and notthing to son

(Querist) 29 October 2012 This query is : Resolved
Hi,

I just want to know that if a father out of personal grudges with son and his wife, decided to give all his self owned and ancestral property to his daughter and nothing to the son,

1. can a son claim his right ?
2. does the girl grandchild have any right on grandfathers property

or can the father give everything to his married daughter.

1. Yes son can claim but only the ancestral properties not his self earned property.
2.Yes

Try to reclaim love and affection of your father, not merely earthly belongings.

father must have reasons to disinherit the son . son has no right to father self acqired property . nor does grand children . as far as ancestral prop is concerned he can claim share .

Son can claim a right only in the ancestral property, if any. He has no right in the self acquired properties of his father if the latter has excluded him in the will. Father is free to bequeath his property to anyone he so desires. However, the will can be challenged on certain grounds. The same holds true for a granddaughter.
