I and my brother inherited property from our father and we got that transferred in our names after getting NOC from sisters.
My brother disowned his son as he had some problem with his wife and sold his 50% share of this property. My brother’s daughter-in-law has lodged a complaint against his family (dowry complaint, wanting share in inherited property). There is no complaint against me and my family.
I and my friend who is now 50% owner of the said property got into contract that he will dismantle the house and got it reconstructed then we will sell this house together and he will deduct his construction cost and will distribute rest of money 50% each.
My queries / guidance needed:
1. Can my brother’s daughter-in-law claim her and her son’s share from my share of property. Can she take any order from court as her father-in-law has disposed his 50% share?
2. My friend is compelling me to sell my share of property at throw away price at which I am not interested.
3. Since I am an NRI I am afraid that my friend who is 50% share holder of the said house will take possession of the house as his intentions seem foul.
4. What steps I need to take to avoid all above problems.

brother daughter in law cannot claim any share . dont sell your property . give power of attorney to any close relative who will look after your interests
