Sir my societies elections are to be held shortly i would like to know the election process for cooperative housing societies in Gautam Budh Nagar Noida. i would like to be clear of the fact as to how the votes will be put, as it has been told to me that every member can only give one vote to the nominated candidates whereas there are 8 positions to be filled. I would appreciate your assistence.

sir i have read the byelaws and the co-operative housing societies act 1965, which stated that every member has the right to vote for the candidates or the no. of candidates he wishes to see in the management. however, the election officer is saying that the members would be divided into 8 sets within each set candidates can be appointed and the nominees of that set can only be voted for by the members of the set. the election officers words are contradicting what has been written in the rule book.

If there is any violation of Laws and Bye Laws then apprise the same to the Registrar of Cooperative Societies.
