Hi,
My brother had an old lady as a cook from beginning of his career. After his marriage same cook continued to come to cook for him and his family( Wife , Son ). This cook gave her daughter-N-Law as her substitute for this job as a cook when it was difficult for this old lady to cook anymore. After few months, this old lady passed away. This new cook remained as my brother's family cook for last 9 years. When my sister-N-law filed a 498 case against all of us( my brother, mother and 4 sisters), she made the cook as one of her witnesses. My sister-n-law is a big liar and blaming us for all such criminal acts about which we can't even think of. I am ready to go for lie-detecting test if it is required to prove our innocence. After getting bail, as per Lawyer's advice my brother started staying with his wife. But it was impossible for my brother to agree to his wife's demand to sign an agreement to close the case. So after 2 months he decided to leave his bungalow and stay outside wherever he can arrange his accommodation. He also went to his cook's home to tell her that he no more need her service as a cook. When he went to her home, he was shocked to know that cook has not told anyone in her family ( including her husband) about her involvement in this 498 case as a witnesses. Now my brother's wife is making big issue out of this and she is demanding my brother to request the same cook to go to his bungalow for cooking where only his wife and 2 kids live. My brother is going to stay elsewhere and have his meal in restaurants or mess.
My questions are - Did my brother commit a mistake by asking cook not to come for cooking anymore? Should he fall for his wife's demand and request that cook to go for cooking for his wife and kids? His wife is a well settled doctor. Can't my brother ask his wife to take care of the cooking/meal problem by herself? Either she can cook or hire a new cook! Can my liar sister-N-law put my brother in trouble again for visiting cook's home and firing that cook from job?

If the cook has been made a witness by your sis-in-law, she has done a blunder mistake because such witnesses are not rust worthy due to their nature especially in the event of getting influenced by the lady member of the house. Thus by firing the cook from her job, your brother has done a good job because for the sake of money she may depose false witness too. I think even now there are chances if parties sit together, talk and resolve the issues amicably either this way or the other way.
