Hello,
I am from North India & working in Bangalore from past 4years.
My son born in May2013 (in Bangalore) and within two months I applied & received his birth certificate ,bearing his name as "Gauransh".Getting it was an easy and simply process.
Now , after more than One year, due to personal reasons I want to change his name to "Ojas".
What is the procedure to change his name in his Birth Certificate? Kindly help me.
Regards,
Rajan

You have to consult Collector Office. Meet the concerned officer. There will be some procedure. You have to purchase a set of documents outside the collector office. Since your son is minor, as a guardian you have to give self affidavit stating the facts are true and correct, then you have to give paper publication, then Gazette notification will be done. That all. For further clarification call me 7893011777 or mail me to ravinder2345@gmail.com.

You cannot change the name already registered in the register of the registrar of births and deaths. You may follow the procedure of change of name through gazette publication. Make a paper publication to the effect of changing your son's name from old one to new, along with the copy and affidavit, fill up the prescribed form and pay the requisite fee in the Karnataka government press which is situated ion the Kanakapura Road, Bangalore, get it published in the government gazette, take the copies and attach it with the child's birth certificate in future with all the correspondences, this will solve your issue.

Thanks alot Ravinder.P & T.Kalaiselvan for the support and sharing the unseful information.
I met Bytaranyapura BMC official (who issued me the original Birth certificate), he has suggested me to make an affidavit and submit it in Yehlanka BMC office.
Now I want to know what type of affidavit and the text matter for this affidavit.

Rajan

you can cite numerology and change your son's name, by an affidavit duly signed by a magistrate.

Yesterday I met Yehlanka BBMP official for the same.
As per her, there is no official procedure to "completely change" the name of the certificate holder.
Correction in the name or parent's name is only possible through BBMP office
Other way is to got thru "Court order".
