father in law expired..

Father inlaw expired.Is there any time period with in that the property has to transfer from father to son?

@Author, if he died intestate then all his legal heirs have right over that property. if all other legal heirs wish to transfer the property to the son of the deceased person, they may relinquish their rights over the property to him(son of the deceased).

Property can be transferred in the name of all legal heirs and not in the name of son only. Earlier transfer prevents complication.
