Signboards Of Practicing Laywers In Co-op. Housing Society

One of the members of our Co-op. Housing society is a Doctor having his dispensery in one room of his flat. He has put up a signborad on the front wall of the society. Now another member has started his prctice as an ADVOCATE. He wants to put his signboard also on the front wall of the society near main entrance.
What are the general rules as to the rights of such professionals for keeping their signboards?
Can anybody give detail information with relevent rules or Laws for the matter??

for advocates the name board can not be a large one which seems to be kind of advertising. It must be a small one only.

Residents Association could be the right source to find an amicable solution if any of the members have any objection to professionals' sign board;
Local municipality may have a role if the signboards fall in the category of Advertising, for which proper permission with payment of municipal tax thereon may be necessary !
