Dear All,

One of my friend who is living in mumbai wants to become guardian of his maternal uncle's daughter. she is 6 yrs old nd has no parents. Now she is living with my friend only. My Friend is 25 yrs onld.

Please answer the following questions
1) What is the procedure ?
2) What documents are required?
3)Expenses in that regard

your friend needs 2 move an application in court 4his appointment as guardian With documents he may have2 prove his relation With girl,not very expensive, very nominal cost.

Yes but the cost depends upon the lawyer who would look after the case.

Whether you friend is unmarried or married as this is very vital question.
Financial status, educational back ground, and many other things
and
other near relatives.

Whether you are competent to become guardian and whether the welfare of the child lies with you -- this is the paramount consideration for giving guardianship to you.

my friend is married. he is financially sound and educated as well.

please guide me whethter he has to file a guardainship petition in the high court on which court will give its decision after hearing the case or other way is there?

wht will be the appox cost including lawyer nd court fee for that?

And also tell me the procedure for Guardianship in mumbai.
