Hi

this is shobha from bangalore, can i get divorce , as i filed divorce in 2007, and the case was closed because i did not attended for hearing, as i have filed a case of property suite against my husband, he has 5 acres of land, which he wants to sell, i have 2 kids, can i ask for maintaince, and i am leaving seperately from 5 years, and how long
does it take to get divorce, and i need it very badly, i am leaving bangalore for my career opportunities

yes! you can ask for maintenance rather it was possible earlier also.

Yes you may ask for maintenance for your self and also for your children. You may recall the order in divorce case and contest the matter.

you can ask for maintenance, if you are unable to maintain yourself. you can ask maintenance for children.

You can ask for maintenance if not able to support yourself, also if grounds are available you can get divorce too.

For maintenance you can file cases u/s 125 crpc and u/s 12 of PWDV Act.

However you can not stop him from selling his landed properties unless the same is a dwelling unit.
