do u know Britishers tried to write down the customary laws in India?
have u ever heard abt Rattigan's Digest on customary law?
if u can arrange Dr. Paras Diwan's books on Hindu Law and Customary Law.
whole set of ur answers are contained there in.
m sorry m not giving the interpretation or accurate reply here.
the issue is a bigger one and needed to be understood by reading only.
Rattigan's digest and Dr. Diwan's book will be easily avialable to u, pls read the books, u ll find all ur answers.

No. After passing the statutory law, where procedure and grounds have been well laid down for divorce, customary divorce is not valid and divorce can be only through court of law.
