sir,
if a person dies without writing any will then how his property is to be divided among his legal heirs.property include both ancestral and self acquired property...
Adv.R.P.Chugh (Expert) 11 September 2012
In such a case the deceased person's right/interest in ancestral property + his self acquired property goes to his Class I legal heirs - which are normally the spouse/children/grandchildren if children are predeceased.

(This position is applicable to Hindus)
