Purchasing of agricultural property

my husband wants to purchase an agricultural land. can he purchase it. but he is not from agricultural background family. so please tell me whether he can purchase and if yes what are the terms and conditions and rules he has to follow

if you are in maharashtra your husband cannot purchase agricultural land unless he is an agriculturist

Maharashtra and Gujarat are two States wherein only an agriculturist can purchase further agricultural land and there is no specific rules in all other States. You have not mentioned your State wherein your husband wants to purchase so nothing more to add.
