Old rented house mumbai

(Querist) 24 January 2013 This query is : Resolved
hi,
my name is vivek, i live in a property rented by my father on his fathers name, it is an old house but well maintained ..my father has been living there for the last 63 years, so now his 2 brothers who live else where in Mumbai are forcing him to sell it.he doesn't want to sell it and we do not have any other accommodation.

my question is can my fathers brothers force us to leave the place just like that? and sell it so that the brothers can get money??

thanks
your advise will be helpful...

no they cant force you to sell the accomodation . on death of his grand father his legal heirs namely your father and his brothers have tenancy rights on said premises .if decision is taken to sel the property landlord will take 1/3rd of the consideration received

I do agree with ajay sethi.
