False allegations, anticipatory bail and counter action

One of our neighbour had filed a FIR taking name of another person and falsely accuses us (me, father, mother and wife) with dacoity, extorsion, forcibly grabbing property, murder threat. All the allegations made in the FIR is complete lie. I have been called by one police officer and instructed to get anticipatory bail for us. What is the procedure to get anticipatory bail and what is the cost? Myself with good academic background, working in private organisation in good post. We are also quite respected in our society. Since, these false allegations has created damage to my profile, and also providing lot of harassments to us. I would like to know what counter action can we take and is there any way to claim for damages and cost occurred due to this false accuses.

U must get AB.
It is false and harassing, but legal procedures are adopted, So you need to defend yourself first.
Later u can claim and ask for compensation.
