Reg government exams

Hello Sir
I am Mani from Tamilnadu. I am a engineering graduate and Presently i am doing business. And i registered my business in my name. Now i have a wish to write state upsc exams and preparing sideby. Being an entrepreneur and business is registered in my name whether i am eligible to write this exam?. Can i become Government employee? Please do reply sir..

You are eligible to take the exam. The only thing is that you would not be able to continue with the business after you are selected for any Government job. For that, immediately on joining after selection, you will have to sunit in writing to the cadre controlling authority that the business stands registered in your name, but other members of family are doing the business. You will have to transfer the busniness in the name of some member of the family or close that.

Agree with the expert PS Dhingra ji. A person doing some business can appear for Govt. job, but if joins on selection he has to discontinue the business on his name.
