Divorce decree how to give maintenance

sir please tell me my divorce is decree and marriage is declared dissolved and court had ordered me to deposit RS-3,00,000/- and the decree would come to operate subject to deposit of RS 3 LAKHS. but judge had not written in the order how to deposit money to my wife. but my advocate said to deposit money as a fixed deposit in my wife name and the fixed deposit bond will be submitted in the court so please help me is it ok to deposit as fixed deposit in SBI in my wife name.

You can send the money to her account as you know her bank a/c also.

You can pay through a crossed Bank draft in the name of your wife and handover the same through court. If the instructions are for fix deposit you can mention the fact on Bank draft with the name of payee (ABC- a FD for _ years to be issued as per court order).

If you take FD in the name of your wife, you can not cancel it before handing over in case of need and it would be difficult and would be a long procedure to prove at later state that deposit was made by you.

It is always better to purchase an account payee Demand Draft in her favor and deposit the same in the court for onward transmission to her, it is the safest way.
