the High Court can call the records from the subordinate criminal courts for its examination. The power is termed as the revisionary power of court. The High court can call the records on its own or on an application made in that regard.

Dear Rishabh,
Solution is for some problem, not of general query. When you are making abundantly incomplete description of your query like an academic query of a student, you cannot expect appropriate solution to your real problem. General questions can attract only general response that may or may not fit to your query depending upon the characteristics of your case.
You should have mentioned for what purpose and with which reason the magistrate has sought to call for record from HC, in which type of case, whether you are petitioner or defendant in the case, what concern is bothering you, if the magistrate is able to get record from the HC, etc.
Naturally, in the absence of appropriate details, you cannot expect adequate response from experts, as nobody likes to be kept in a guessing position or be expected to respend merely on presumption basis.

Lower court can not call record of pending file but may request for disposed matter.
