Obtaining a khata for agricultural land

Dear Experts,

I have brought a piece of land in Mysore. At the time of registration, I was not informed that the land is an agricultural land and I had no idea of the rules governing the subject.

Sirs, I have invested my hard earned money in this small piece of land.

Can you kindly enlighten me as to how to regularise this land and the process of getting a khata in my name.

If it is a patta land it is ok. But if it is a Govt land, poromboke land, assigned land, lands given to poor people are all not salable. Then you will be in trouble. Please check up whether your lands falls within the above category. Go to the Mandal Revenue Office and verify by Survey No. They will explain you. By the by what is the extent of the land.

It is better to approach the District Revenue office/City Corporation office, enquire the details and fulfill the formalities as being instructed, take the help of a local advocate.
