Sir,
Does the police have the power to arrest the
person against whom they are conducting enquiry u/s 156/3.

its depend on the case, if they got the evidence that there is any cognizable offence has committed and the arresting is required then the police may arrest the person with the reason that due to that reason we arrest the accused after registering the FIR and report to the court regarding the status.

Dear Mr. Prakash,
U/s 156(3)Crpc orders are given by the jurisdictional megistrate for registration of Criminal case in Police station. Hence police is liable to conduct investigation in the particular matter after the case is registered. Now it depends on the sections of law,which makes the police move forwards to make arrest in non bailable section or to take bail in police station.
If you want correct guidance please inform the sections of IPC or Act in which police is conducting enquiry/ Registered the case only then it will be possible to guide you further.
