I was selected for a gov (wb) job and asked to submit duly filled fvr form at DIB for proper verification for criminal records. after submission of my pvr form at DIB I joined the job. I was charge sheeted for a criminal case and acquitted after one month of my joining. I tolled in that pvr form that i was never been charge sheeted casually. Now the home ministry has asked me to explain why I did this. What should I do ????

You are seeking asdvise by not giving clear facts:-
(i) whether criminal charge was pending against you while filling the attestation form.
(ii)whether you had given any misleading and wrong stattement in the said form. (iii) what was the charge.
(iv) whether you are acquitted on merit or on the procedural grounds.
(v) How the department came to know of the history.
without these vital information no view can be formed and no suitable advise can be given.

Since your were charge-sheeted you should have informed this. Subsequent acquittal does not absolve you from withholding this information.

Since the explanation / information is sought, consult some service law expert and reply the letter, disciplinary proceedings can be started against you after charge sheet.
