Regarding registration of property

Dear Experts.
I live in Mumbai I am the owner of two apartments located next to each other( jodi flats). They have been registered as two separate apartments and I am the first owner in both and my husband is the co owner i e his is the second name in both registrations. I now wish that his may be the first name in ONE of the apartments. What is the procedure as per the laws applicable in Mumbai. Look forward to your advice Regards Gita

You are required to relinquish your first share in favour of your husband by way of a registered document called Relinquishment Deed which may also require the nominal stamp duty, the amount of which can be told by local stamp vendors or the office of registrar.

Approach society for getting the procedure.

Share in the flat is decided on the basis of title documents and not on the basis of first name appearing.
