Miss X, an unmarried woman, without any children, executed a WILL relating to her property (Apartment) in favour of her niece Mrs Y and this has been duly Registered in one of the Registrar Office in Tamilnadu. The property is in Tamilnadu. Miss X died recently. Mrs.Y wants to sell the property which had been willed to her (and Registered also). Whether she has to get it endorsed/ ratified by a Court of Law before selling the property?.

If the property is in Chennai, the will shall be probated through the court of law.

Rightly opined by expert Sri KAVK Satyanarayana sir. She first has to get the Will probated through a court competent and after that should get the property records transferred to her name subsequent to which she can sell the property
