Had you given some background and pointed out in what context you have asked about the meaning of C.A.V., more experts would have tried to solve your problem.
However, according to me, CAV stands for the terms of Certification, Authentication and Verification.

Without waiting for the context in which this appears, if we start thinking what it means, we may end up thinking much more than what thus abbreviation in its original context really meant!

Dear Prashant,
Please recheck, whether the word is c.a.v. or cav (without stop marks). If that is cav, that may be an abbreviation for caveat also.

Yes i too want to speak you in the words of Mr.Makkad "Where is your amended query which you mentioned above?"
while having an appropriate comment from Mr.
Ramachandran,i also see,an intelligent revised guess from Mr. Dhingra with if clause but author has already put it as C.A.V.
