Sir,
There was a dispute on drain between me & my neighbour which they wanted to encroach.
We filed a case against them on june -2013.
Our lawyer told that the case will be cleared within a few months.
Now its almost one year & still the case is going on.
On our lawyers advice, we submitted all original documents of our house to the court.
But we did not get any receipt of the submitted docs.
Can I get the receipt.
Sir, If i want to get back my original docs now, what is the procedure.
Plz advice.

your original documents would be returned to you after disposal of case . you make application to court and furnish copies of said documents . court will then permit you to take back originals .
litigation is long drawn process . not possible to be disposed of in few months

Move application in the court for taking back the originals through your lawyer.
Courts are overburdened, it may take 3-5 or more years for decision of a case of such nature in lower court.

Why you deposited original documents, when you had option to deposit attested copies of original documents. Civil case will prolong for many years so make an application for deposit of attested copies of documents instead of originals.

Follow the advise of Mr. Ajay Seth in this regard. Since the civil litigation will take many years to get disposed, you may on the safer side, get back the original documents as advised.
