Sir,

My father Hindu is Rt central govt employee. he is having his grand father(only one son) properties of 2 acres land. and

his self earning properties of some land are there.

Now he wants to make some settlements to their sons. what he was saying that from ancestral properties one settlements.And another settlements from self learned properties .it is possible

If during the life time of your father, the partition of the ancestral property would be done, then the property has to be divided in equal share between (i) father (ii) father's wife (i.e. mother) and each of the son(s) and each of the daughter(s).

Share eqaual to that of the son has to be given to the wife under Mitakshara law in all States other than Madras.

As regards the personal (self-earned)property, the father can settle it as he deems fit.

Yes, two separate settlements - one for ancestral property and the other for self-acquired property - can be done. There is no legal bar for the same.

Yes, he is right.

Self-earned property ,father can use as he wish.R.Ramachandran answer is perfectly right.
