dear expert
can u plz tell me how much cost approximatly it takes for registration of will in kolkata

and what is probate of bill and its charges
and what happ if after registration of will and on demise of my father i do not probate as i have heard probate costs in lakhs

The charges of an advocates varies with particular advocates.

You have wrongly heard about the costs. It is not so exorbitant.

There is no need to avail the services of a lawyer for the drafting the will rather you may get this done from Deed writer who charge very nominal charges and registration charges are also very nominal.

In Kolkatta, will requires probate the stamp duty upon which is hardly 2% of value.

In Kolkata, the court fees for Probate is not 2%.

Rather it depends upon the value of the property and the highest being Rs 50,000/- irrespective of the value of property.
