How to trace one from his email id

one person harrasing my one friend by sending some emails. telling her that he loved her so much... he wants to marry her... etc.
can any one advice how to trace the person from his email id. my friend does not want to lodge police compliant first. she wants to trace out him through his email id. is it possible??

No, it is not. Only Police can get such information.

If she does not wisht o lodge police complaint, let her respond to the mails and ask him to give required details.

If your friend does not want to make a complaint then at least she should simply ignore such mails. THAT's all. What is she going to do by knowing the person? If she is not interested in any person, it will be advisable to simply ignore the mails, instead of trying to find out the identify / tracing etc., which she cannot at all do.

Simply block that email id by changing the settings that all... you won't receive any mail from that id.
