Regarding government job

(Querist) 22 July 2015 This query is : Resolved
Hello,

I got posting orders to join for a government job. In the posting orders No time limit or deadline date is given/mentioned to join.

As I am in need of some time to move to the new location and to complete all my personal & family commitments at current location I have requested the officer who have issued me joining orders to give me 3 months time to join. I have requested this through a registered post letter.

As I did not get any response from the officer/department for my registered post letter I have sent another letter almost 10 days back. This one is sent through speed post.

Now Is there any risk for my job. I have receipts of both the speed & registered post letters sent to the officer/department.

Is there any chance for the officers/department to take any action on me and stop giving job to me ?

You should have posted the extracts of the service rules that are applicable to your position and clause on joining time.
You may carefully go thru all docs pertaining to this job starting from:
Job advt, job application, interview call letter, selection letter, joining letter and rules/policies that are stated in these and applicable to the position for which you have been selected.
Even if no deadline is mentioned the officer concerned can not violate the rules that are applicable to him/her, in accordance to which he/she has to act…………………..and may not be able to go beyond reasonable time and reasonableness.
If you have dispatched 2 letters and want to exploit the gaps then you could have mentioned that a postage prepaid envelope self addressed envelope purchased from PO with stamps affixed for Rs…………… is attached for sending reply by Redg. Post to you.
