commercial activity in residential area

(Querist) 23 September 2015 This query is : Resolved
I have 2 shops in my residence ( one grocery store and one he jewelry store)

I have paid conversion charges for the grocery shop portion.
Now i want to pay it for the other shop too.

I need to know:
1. How many shops are allowed in one residential unit.

2. What are the formalities for conversion.

Kindly mention the section for reference.

Any reason for coming to this forum, when you know the process, as you have already got the residence converted to a shop? Anyway, reply to your academic query is as follows:

(1) Depends upon the byelaws of the civic body of your city. You were required to approach the same authority from whom you you have got conversion of residential portion to a commercial shop.

(2) The same formalities for conversion of the other parts of the residence are required to be undertaken by you, as you would have taken for conversion of your residential portion to a shop.
