Sir,
We run a small school with less than 14 employees.
The E.S.I inspector through intimidation and harassment made me pay contribution.
They have a copy of my employees register showing the number of employees,
but they wrote it as 20 employees.
When I asked, why it showed that way , I was told it was a clerical error.
And that I can't contest it, as I did not show up for appeal.
Actually, I did attend for hearing, but they did not mention that I had to sign anywhere.
Today , they started again.
Any suggestions or referral to a lawyer in Vijayawada or anywhere in Andhra pradesh or Telangana, would be appreciated.

Your query is also vague.
You need to first check whether it was ESI Inspector or PF Inspector. ESI Inspector does not need a figure of 20 he is happy if 10 employees are there. It is PF Inspector who needs a figure of 20
Then you need to clarify as to how did he intimidate (by showing the consequences of non-compliance or by bringing goons)
How many employees you actually had (including ad-hoc/daily wager/piece rated worker/home-workers/part-timer/contract/outsourced) both skilled/unskilled.
Are you depositing PF.
If you are depositing PF then on what rate [whether at the rate of wages you actually pay or the rate of wages you report to the education department]
what is the hearing you are facing in in which office.
