Where can the POA be registered? only whr the property locat

I am travelling to USA in a week time. I purchased a flat (Under construction) in Chennai. My native is Namakkal (400km from Chennai). In the construction agreement and sale agreement, I have my Namakkal address. The property is yet to be registered in Chennai. I am going to give Power of Attorney to my Father to proceed with the registration of the Flat. Can I register the Power of Attorney in Namakkal Sub Registor office? or should the power of Attorny be registered in Chennai sub registor office where the property is identified? Please guide me in this.

The jurisdiction lies with Namakkal Sub Registering Officer.

Alternately if you have an address at Chennai, you can register the same @ Chennai also.

Thanks to Mr.Vishal and Aravindhan. I have another question. I have a approved loan from HDFC. But the first disbursment didnt happen. for loan proceedings I have given my chennai address. Giving Power of Attorney in Namakkal will by some way be affecting the loan disbursment?

You may register the power of attorney at any of the sub-registrar office either in Namakkal or in Chennai. A power of attorney is valid and have full force in all over India if there is no contrary provision to this effect. Means there will be no hurdle in bank loan case if u regd. the attorney at Namakkal sub-registrar office.

In case your father will deal the loan processing of the loan or deal with the bank in any way about the loan then it is advisable to register the POA using your Chennai address.

Give the address which you are residing at the time of execution of POA.
