reservation to professor in probation period

Hello Friends
My friend is working as Assistant Professor in reputed college in Amravati.
As he is yet to complete his probation period, the college facing surplus problem. He is in reserve category.
Whether he has protection undur the any law, rules, notification or any judicial rulings to protect him under probation period?

Depends upon the number of posts to be declared surplus and at which point in the roster his name appears. If the post of reserved class is not to be declared surplus, he can get the benfit, otherwise not, as probation period does not guarantee confirmation against the post.
