what is a difference between a release deed and gift deed??
Is the stamp duty payable same on both the instruments????

Release deed pertains to relinquishment of right. It can be in favour of one or more persons who already has/have some interest in the subject of release. Whereas gift is in favour of a particular person or persons . It is a kind of assignment/transfer of rights without consideration. There is also difference in stamp duty.
