Property tax of my Flat

(Querist) 28 July 2011 This query is : Resolved
Dear Sir,

I have purchased a flat in A-Block (F.no 203)at Paramount Residency in the year 2007 at Hyderabad under Nagaram gram Panchyat, Keesara Mandal.

I got possession letter in May 2008.

When I approached the builder help me make my flat assessed enabling me to pay my property tax to the concerned department. To this the builder asked me to approach the local Gram Panchyat along with request letter for assessment and sale deed which is enough and he has nothing to do with it.

Subsequently I have approached the Nagaram Gram Panchyat for paying the property tax but they refused to take the same and issued me a letter stating that the builder did not submit certain documents like completion certificate, etc and that there is also a legal issue between Gram Panchyat and the builder on a drainage issue which Gram Panchyat claim that the builder did not take care for connecting the nulla on the other side of this property. Due to which during the rainy season the Nagaram village gets flooded up, hence there is a case pending on this issue. During flood season the Panchyat and local people broken the part compound wall twice in order to flood relief.

The case point regarding nulla issue has also been mentioned in the letter given to me and cited these reasons for which they cannot accept property tax from us.

Under such circumstances can we pay the property tax.

I don't know what to do?

Please guide me with your valuable inputs.

Regards,

S.Sakthivel

You can prepare a Bank Pay order favouring the Concerned gram panchayat on self assessment basis and send it through registered post with acknowledgement due. This act will be favourable in case any further dispute arises in future. Further you can approach court for suitable relief

Better sue your builder for damages for all your suffering - as he cannot understand the value of a nullah and obstructed it with a building.
Though this is not the remedy that you seek, it will teach a lesson to the builder and uch types of insensitive persons.
