Fleecing by managing committee of coop soc.

Querist : Anonymous (Querist) 23 October 2011 This query is : Resolved
1) I am having a flat in a coop society in Mumbai (J B Nagar)and although I have paid full stamp duty I am not being admitted as a member saying that my agreement is not registered. Pl. advice why it is so?
2) Also managing committee has come up with the demand notice for repairs cost contribution without discussing the details and the quotations received and not disclosing the facts to me. What can I do as I feel they are fleecing members and me as well?

Pl. spare your valued time and advice.

File a proper application before the Registrar of Co-operatives stating your grievance.

1) did you purcahse flat on resale?

2) please note registarion is optional for cooperative society flat in case you have bought it on resale

3)when did you make application for transfer?

4) the society is required to inform member within 90 days of application for transfer as to whether transfer is approved or not

5) as far as repairs are concerned the issue has to be discuused in AGM , contribution payable by each member has to be decided , contractors quotation approved then repairs have to be done .
