About vat on agreement cost

Dear Experts,

I purchased a flat in NOV 2010 in Pune. At the time of registration, I paid 1% of agreement cost as VAT to the builder. But he has not given the govt receipt for it yet.

I think he has not given the money to Govt yet. I have followed up with the sales people of the builder but in vain.

Please suggest way forward.

Issue a notice to him through a lawyer and also make a complaint to VAT Inspector of your area. This is misappropriation of State exchequer and is a serious offence so a FIR can be got lodged against him apart from 10 times recovery of such amount.
