Special Marriage Act 1954

How long will it need to nullify a marriage?

What are the procedures have to face in the court?

Will there be counseling in the nullification case? How many?
Devajyoti Barman (Expert) 14 January 2012
You can file a suit for nullilty after the solemnisation of alleged marriage.

The time depends upon various factors which should around 4- 5 years if it is contesed by the other spouse.

Yes the court would fiox a date for reconciliation.

agreed with the views of Mr. Barman

There shall not be conciliation in case of petition seeking nullification of marriage. Rest of the answer of Barman is right.

Depends on various circumstances and strategy of parties and contested case may take time even more than one suggested.

After you file,it shall be registered with a numer and notice to OP shall be sent who after service shall file his reply called W.S.where after issues shall be framed and either party shall lead oral evidence ,then argument shall take place and then judgement shall be given.

Will there be counseling in the nullification case? How many?
