Can an NRI buy agricultural land in India? I read somehwere that RBI forbids it. So what is the recourse for an NRI who is interested to buy agricultural land in his name only?

NRI can purchase agricultural land subject to law of that state in which land is situated and as well as norms of the RBI.

generally you cn abuy agricultural land only if you are an agriculturist atleast in maharashtra .
if you are not an agriculturist you cant buy agricultural land

The said NRI inherited some agricultural lands from his grandfather, father, mother and they are all agriculturists.
The said NRI wants to buy agricultural land in Andhra Pradesh or Karnataka. But mostly he wants to buy in Andhra as his mother is also a farmer.

Sir, whether I can purchase agriculture land in Bhimavaram AP even though I am not a farmer and do not have any agland in A.P and my income is more than 2 lakhs per annum by declaring that that my grand father from my motherside was a farmer and agriculturist holding 20 acaes in karnataka and on expiry the land is held by mothers brother aged 75 years.

There is no requirement to be an agriculturist in AP so you can easily purchase there agricultural land as desired.
