We are a company of manufacturing goods recently checked by electricity board then they served a notice demanding huge amount of money by saying that we are using the industrial tariff connection for commercial uses by using its office, we gone for stay arguing that it is part of our factory fot marketing and other department what is the merit of this case

IF OFFICE IS INSIDE INDUSTRIAL AREA/ WITHIN FACTORY LIMIT, AND CARRY ON WORK RELATING TO PRODUCTION/ INDUSTRY, u are using the industrial tariff connection.
Otherwise Commercial tariff. Electricity board had wide experience and are no fools.
If Activity is Marketing, Tariff will be Commercial.
U may claim Part of Tariff as Industrial Recomm: Have Two separate meters, One for Mkt + Adm Office as Comm.Tariff One for Factory as Prod office c Indu Tariff
If one and the same meter, it will amt to commercial

Your organisational set up vis-a-vis the language of the notice would need to be checked with specific reference to the sections of the Electricity Act/ Rules quoted in the notice before any appropriate advice be given. So, it would be better, if you consult some local/nearest expert on the issue and make him aware of the situation.
