Q)can self acquired property is consider as ancestral?can the coming generation of a person on whose name property stands claim right over it?
PARTHA P BORBORA (Expert) 11 October 2012
self aquired proparty is not ancestral for the person who aquired it but it will be ancestral for his future generations.
Sri Vijayan.A (Expert) 14 October 2012
Self acquired means it is acquired by one from his own earnings. As such none others can claim any right over it.

However, after life time of the owner, his legal heirs shall be the owners of the property. For them, it is ancestral one and succession rules shall govern the property.
