Stop payment

I had order for some goods worth Rs 10000/-
from a dealer on payment of Rs 10000/-post dated cheque . so far I have not received the goods . Can I stop the payment of the above cheque

Not without prior written notice to the drawee asking him not to present cheque without your consent or before actual delivery of goods.

Issue notice to drawee before instructions to bank for "stop payment"ask either deliver the ordered goods or return the questioned cheque.
